Deck the Trees 2026: Making Spirits Bright

Deck the Trees will be Making Spirits Bright across the Swannanoa Valley from December 3, 2026 through January 1, 2027! Now in its 16th year, Deck the Trees is an annual Christmas fundraiser for the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry (SVCM) Fuel Fund. Our goal: to help our neighbors in need keep their homes warm during winter.

How does it work?

First, find the trees!

  • You can find this year's trees
    • by using the Google Maps Tree Trail or downloadable brochure at our Deck the Trees (DTT) homepage
    • Or by using printed brochures available at the Black Mountain Visitors' Center
    • Another option: look for the Deck the Trees logo in the windows of businesses around town
    • Can't visit in person? Don't worry! Photos of every tree will be posted on the DTT homepage. You can vote from anywhere!

Next, vote for your favorite tree(s)!

  • From December 3 to January 1, you can vote for your favorite tree(s) by donating. Vote as many times as you'd like. Every dollar goes directly to the SVCM Fuel Fund.

Voting is easy:

  • You can scan the QR code at each tree to donate online.
    • There will be a drop-down list where you can choose which tree you are voting for.
  • You can drop in cash or checks if a donation box is available next to the tree.
  • You can also mail checks written to "SVCM" with "DTT" and the name of the tree in the memo to PO Box 235, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
